Using CTRL-C (copy) while renaming copies file, not selected text

1. Right-click on a file 2. Choose "Rename..." 3. Use CTRL-C to try to copy the text This will not copy the filename, but the file itself. Trying to paste (using CTRL-V) while renaming another will copy the first file.
