GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 140272
No continuing at Filling out HBCI-Configuration
Last modified: 2018-06-29 20:42:53 UTC
When filling out the form for User-ID of my HBCI-Account, chosing RDH as encryption, GnuCash wants to create a file/archive for the key. This fails obviosly as the next dialog-window does not show up and on the console-window the folling error is reported: HBCI_API_createNewMedium: Caught error: medium type not found (118) at API::mediumFromConfig on_userid_next: Couldn't create medium: medium type not found
This error most likely points to a problem with your installation of OpenHBCI. Which distribution is this, and which packages of gnucash and OpenHBCI did you install? I'd guess that the directory $prefix/lib/openhbci/plugin is missing something or contains the wrong things. If you installed a pre-compiled openhbci package you shouldn't get this problem, I guess. In any case, it is correct that gnucash doesn't let you continue the HBCI setup (since it failed in vital parts). However, the 100% correct behaviour of gnucash would be to pop up an error message saying "your openhbci installation contains an error, please fix it first."
I had this problem with debian and the reason was that I forgot to install the ddv plugin. After installing the plugin the error dissappeared.
