GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 139687
Header/Footer missing in Postscript Output
Last modified: 2006-07-06 23:23:08 UTC
Create a sheet, Select File/PageSetup Headers and Footers Configure some header lines In Print Preview and printing to CUPS, the Header and Footer lines appear correctly. But when generating a Postscript or PDF file, the Header and Footer lines are missing.
Would you please attach the original gnumeric file as well as the Postscrip file you created from it? WHich version of (lib)gnomeprint, and (lib)gnomeprintui are you running?
If the header lines wouldn't show in the preview I would suspect that the space for the header lines was set to 0.
Created attachment 26553 [details] Testfile This is a stripped down version of the gnumeric sheet
Created attachment 26554 [details] Postscript output This is the postscript output
Package: libgnomeprint2.2-0 Version: 2.4.2-4 Package: libgnomeprintui2.2-0 Version: 2.4.2-2 Your hint was correct, the space was set to a small value (>0). If set to a larger value, then the header lines appear correctly. However, with the small value the header lines were missing in postscript output, but visible in preview and on my postscript printer, but not when generating a postscript file and sending that to the printer. I found when starting a new sheet, the header and footer length are indeed set to 0. This should be set to a more reasonable value. regards Hadmut
Hi Hadmut, the postscript file contains code that should typeset the headers, but apparently does not. I am suspecting the font handling, since this code is the same that would be send to the printer when you are printing directly. Could you please try this with a file in which you are using the characters from the header also in the body? Thanks
