GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 139507
Menu-Hotkeys stop working when menu bars are disabled or hidden
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
The bug occours in GIMP and X-Chat after an update from GTK 2.2 to GTK 2.4. In the normal state of the menubar (means visible) shortcuts are working. These are for example: X-Chat: Ctrl+W for closing a tab GIMP: For undoing an action Now disable the menubar X-Chat: Richt click in a text window, deactivate "menu bar" GIMP: In the menu of an image-window select "View->menu bar" With the deactivation of the menubars, Ctrl+W (X-Chat) and Ctrl+Z (GIMP) stop working. This - of course - also applies to all other menu-defined shortcuts. This is very annoying because the menu bar in these applications are not needed, they are reachable through right-clicks in the text/image area - but hotkeys stop working ...
The key-examples were supposed to be: X-Chat: Ctrl+W for closing a tab GIMP: Ctrl+Z for undoing an action
Mitch - can you take care of dup'ing?
Sure. What version of GIMP is this btw? GIMP 2.0 has a workaround so shortcuts work regardless menubar visibility. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 137151 ***
