Description Stanislav Brabec 2004-04-03 15:59:10 UTC
GNOME applications (e.g. gedit) are no more able to open files with names
starting with dot. There is no option for "Show hidden files", no chance to type
filename explicitly from keyboard, requester does not react to Show hidden files
in File management preferences.

How to repeat: Try to open .profile in gedit.
Open gedit -> Open file ... No chance.

There is only partial work-around for this problem in command line. DnD works
only for directories, not files.
