How about if the "open location" dialog showed a list of possible completions as
epiphany/galeon does, below the text entry box, and arrow keys could be used to
select the desired location. The list would help seeing the available objects,
and tab would be used to make the completion as it is used now.

I wouldn't mind if the list would be "passive" in the sense that no selections
could be made from it.
