It'd be nice to let Flash objects be replaced by a 'click to play' icon, as
in Mozilla/Firefox.

It's straightforward but first I have to figure out how to add a default
stylesheet.

Well, I don't know if it's really worthwhile to code one. Instead, you can just
set xpinstall.enabled to true in about:config and install flashblock. Works
perfectly.
