GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 135387
XKeepsCrashing should not run translated in CJK
Last modified: 2004-05-27 01:24:07 UTC
Typically VC are not able to display widechars correctly, at least not by default, so XKeepsCrashing should run in LANG=C say for East Asian languages (CJK in particular). The translated text is completely unreadable in a standard VC, so displaying in English at least would be much better.
Which languages are affected?
Certainly ja_JP, ko_KR, zh_CN and zh_TW - basically any language without fonts on a standard kernel VC.
How does one find out if it won't work short of just having a list of "bad" languages?
"Fixing" in CVS. I've added a config string which tests for languages it shouldn't touch on the console.
