GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 135053
"English (Canadian)" entry needed in GDM language table
Last modified: 2005-08-15 01:56:39 UTC
There are now many translations for Canadian English in GNOME (locale "en_CA"). It should probably have a corresponding language entry in the gdm login greeter, and it should probably be named "English (Canadian)" to fit in with the rest. The code is string frozen though, so gnome-i18n@gnome.org needs to be informed if this change is applied.
Now that you bring up language titles in GDM, I feel obligated to mention the lack of consistency in the list. Perhaps "English, American," "English, British," "English, Canadian," and so forth would be more organized and easier to find?

Created attachment 24637 [details] [review] Patch adding the proposed language renaming for consistency.
Good work, Adam. Adding the PATCH keyword.
The first of these patches is affected by the string freeze. Adam, will you ask for permission for committing the first patch? See http://developer.gnome.org/dotplan/tasks.html#ApprovingFreezeBreaks for instructions on that.
Thanks Adam for the patch. Fixed in CVS, please mark as RESOLVED/FIXED.
Resolving as FIXED.
