gnome terminal crashes

All it is showing now, due to incomplete refresh, is "r more information" and "bmit a bug report". Steps to reproduce the problem: No idea if it is reproducible. Here's what I did: 1. In the tcsh in the terminal, ssh to another host. No -X, i.e., no x11 forwarding. 2. Start xemacs. Lacking DISPLAY, it runs in the terminal 3. Edit happily 4. After several minutes, the gnome terminal dies. Actual Results: crash Expected Results: keep working How often does this happen? once Additional Information: Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gnome-terminal' (no debugging symbols found)...[New Thread 16384 (LWP 902)] 0x408eb7f7 in waitpid () from /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0
