Description Ronny.Standtke 2004-01-20 07:52:31 UTC
I was using the "Add text to the image" tool. In the Text Options I
clicked on the Font button (With the "Aa" label). After scrolling a bit
gimp crashed with the following message:

** (gimp-1.3:16886): WARNING **: Unable to load unicode charmap from font
file /usr/share/fonts/ttf/decoratives//beast_wars.ttf

** (gimp-1.3:16886): WARNING **: Unable to open font file
/usr/share/fonts/ttf/decoratives//beast_wars.ttf for font Beast Wars 16,
falling back to /usr/share/fonts/ttf/western//Adventure.ttf

** (gimp-1.3:16886): WARNING **: Unable to load unicode charmap from file
/usr/share/fonts/ttf/western//Adventure.ttf, exiting

(script-fu:16887): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: script-fu: wire_read(): error

Greetings

This is a Pango problem that has been addressed in the Pango HEAD
branch. I have been trying to find a way to workaround it from GIMP
but I am afraid all you can do is to remove the offending fonts or
update to Pango-1.3.1.
