GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 130751
nautilus crashes after re-mounting and viewing a previously mounted file-system
Last modified: 2009-08-15 18:40:50 UTC
Description of Problem: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. mount floppy 2. view mounted filesystem 3. unmount filesystem 4. remount filesystem 5. attempt to view mounted filesystem Actual Results: Nautilus crashes with bus error Expected Results: How often does this happen? Allways Additional Information: Freebsd 5.1 running nautilus with no desktop under windowmaker and using wmmount for mounting / unmounting filesystems.
Thanks for the bug report. Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused the crash. Please see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/getting-traces.cgi for more information about getting a useful stack trace. And what version(s) of nautilus?
Created attachment 23102 [details] trace produced by crash
I am running Nautilus 2-2.4.1.
This seems like a problem iof gnome-vfs on FreeBSD, but the stack trace you provided is missing symbols. Can you please reget it after compiling gnome-vfs and nautilus with debug enabled?
a dup of bug 128631 which is a dup of bug 100709

Re-opening a bunch of bugs that were incorrectly marked as duplicates of bug 100709. jbbags: I think your stacktrace is incomplete. you might try running nautilus in gdb from a terminal to get a better one (see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/getting-traces.cgi for more info). if theres any assertion failures or error messages in the terminal after doing this, report those too. could you also verify its not mounted twice before this happens?
