Could you give more details?
Distro?
Gcompris built from source, from rpm? Which verion of gcompris?
Comment 2 Mark E. Graham 2004-01-08 21:31:00 UTC
gcompris and gcompris-data are 4.2-1
Debian linux, kernel 2.4.21
Distro is Libranet 2.8.1
Downloaded gcompris from unstable repository
deb package from debian.org

I went back to the testing version 3.2-3 and have no problems
Comment 3 Rami Aubourg-Kaires 2004-01-20 17:21:58 UTC
Hello,

It might be related to the LANG environment variable being not set.
See:

THAT WAS IT!!! Thanks

My quick and dirty fix is (using bash shell)

LANG='C'
export LANG
gcompris

It seem to me that gcompris should default to some sane value if a
valid one is not found.
