gnome-terminal crashes when resizing screen while less'ing a file.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. open gnome-terminal
2. run "less somefile"
3. resize screen

Actual Results:
about 1 second later, crashes gnome-terminal

Expected Results:
shouldn't crash.

How often does this happen?
once/week.  about 10% of the times I resize the screen.

Additional Information:
much more likely to happen, ~80%, while in ssh or rsh to remote system.
