In a terminal run the command metacity --replace.

Right click on panel. Choose Add to Panel | Launcher ...
Click on Browse button.Dismiss browse window.

The following is output by metacity:

Window manager warning: Working around an application which called
XSetInputFocus (None) or with RevertToNone instead of RevertToPointerRoot,
this is a minor bug in some application. If you can figure out which
application causes this please report it as a bug against that application.

Hrm... I can't reproduce. Which version of metacity, gnome-panel,
gnome-desktop are you using?
This might be a gnome-desktop bug as the new launcher dialog is in
libgnome-desktop, AFAIK.
Comment 2 padraig.obriain 2003-12-01 09:19:49 UTC
I am using CVS HEAD from all three.

I am transferring to metacity as I cannot determine which process is
calling XSetInputFocus; I had expected that it was gnome-panel but it
is not.
