When I try to rename something from "some folder" to "Some Folder" it tells
me the file name already exists.

What kind of filesystem are you using when this happens?

Sorry, I missed the question, I am using FAT32 via samba. It works fine on EXT3.
I definitely should have dug a bit deeper :)
