Description Behdad Esfahbod 2003-11-18 22:17:51 UTC
It's quite desirable that when you wrongly press Tab after entering your
userid,
then you would be prompted with Password: instead of having to remove the Tab
and press Enter. ximian already does that.
Comment 1 George Lebl 2004-01-15 20:50:37 UTC
And it's semi screwed up. The way Ximian does things it will only
work 100% for setups that have the standard PAM setup. You never know
what PAM can ask you so you shouldn't assume anything. And I don't
want to do it differently for different prompts. Enter works for both
login name and password. Dunno. Keeping as NEW.
Comment 2 Behdad Esfahbod 2004-01-18 09:24:18 UTC
Ok. I see your reason. Just one way I can see: Let Tab act like
Enter if pam has asked us to read a non-password line, ie, with echo
on. I cannot find a scenario that you really need a Tab character in
something other than a password.

If you do not like to do this, feel free to close the bug.
