GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 126673
Focus changes when renaming file
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When you enter a directory and use F2 to rename a file, and that directory is updating some files, the focus will change. This is very irritating because I have experienced several times that I have been renaming a file and using the delete button to erase some characters - when focus changes, I accidently delete the file. How to reproduce: 1. Go into a directory which takes a while to load (in my case, a directory with a lot of .ogg files) 2. Pick a file, and start renaming it. 3. Because not all files are finished updated, everytime a new file is updated the focus will go out of the renaming entry. Note, by "updating" I mean when Nautilus refreshes the view with some new information, e.g. setting the correct icon after it figures out the file type, or when a new file is moved into that folder.
