Description erik.ljungstrom 2003-11-06 12:09:12 UTC
Distribution: Slackware Slackware 9.1.0
Package: gnome-terminal
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.4.1 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: GNOME.Org
Synopsis: gnome-terminal hangs when using screen
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-terminal
Bugzilla-Component: general
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
Description:
Description of Problem:

I'm using gnome-terminal and irssi in a screen. When I´m only working
with irssi, it's all fine and everything works.
But when I switch to another tab, and then back to the tab containing
the screened irssi, the entire terminal goes
blue and stops responding. If I'm fast enough, I can detach and resume
the screen, then it won't hang.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1.

Start a gnome-terminal with two tabs, one screened irssi and one with
whatever.

2.

Switch to the whatever terminal, and launch a few commands (this has to
be done, otherwise it won't crash)

3.

Then switch back to irssi.

Actual Results:

The entire window goes blue (I could be out walking here, but it seems
as if it's either the blue topic-bar och the
status-bar at the bottom of irssi that's sort of "streched out" over the
entire window.

Expected Results:

irssi should resume operation and function properly

How often does this happen?

Every time I do the above three steps

Additional Information:

The screen works as following:

My PC screens an ssh session to another PC, which has an irssi client
screened.

Screen version is 'Screen version 3.09.15 (FAU) 13-Mar-03' on both pc:s.

Note that this problem only occurrs when I use that setup, if I ssh into
the Other PC, and resumes the screen
from the shell there, the bug will not appear.
