Description erwanloisant 2003-10-20 07:58:22 UTC
Each time I try to enter Japanese text (using the text tool), the Japanese
text is correctly previewed in the image window while I'm editing the text
but as soon as I click "close" button Gimp crashes:

(script-fu:11497): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: script-fu: wire_read(): error
Segmentation fault

My environement is French UTF-8, I input Japanese using im-ja (Gtk+2' input
method).
Comment 1 Michael Natterer 2003-10-20 09:59:32 UTC
I can't see how simply hitting "Close" could crash the GIMP.
We simply destroy the text editor window on "Close" and don't
change anything in the image.

Does the crash also occur with other text input fields using
that im-ja module? Look very much like a bug in that
module to me.

Can you run GIMP in a debugger and attach the stack trace of
the crash to this bug report please?

You were right, I upgraded im-ja and it works now. The bug was in
im-ja so it should be closed now.
