Description Clark Haynes 2003-09-26 15:18:22 UTC
I've only seen this bug when running Outlook 2000 under Codeweaver's
Crossover Office. I've run this program under Crossover with GNOME 2.0,
2.2, and previous versions of Metacity without problem. Starting with the
2.3 version, and now with the 2.4 official release, I get a crash on
occasion while using Outlook. Occasionally when opening a window (not
every time) metacity will crash and restart itself.

Attaching a gdb instance to metacity, I get the following stack trace when
Metacity segfaults.

Thread 1 (Thread 16384 (LWP 24220))
  • #0 g_type_check_instance_cast
    from /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0

Any ideas? I would submit this to the Crossover folks, but it seems to be
a bug instroduced in Metacity, not Crossover, as I've used their product
for ages under Metacity in GNOME 2.2.

I've noticed this behavior in Metacity 2.6.1 and 2.5.1. I do not have the
problem in Metacity 2.4.55.

From the one line of stack trace, this looks like a dup of Bug 116923
