GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 116139
Auto-refreshing pages in tabbed browsing steal focus
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: galeon Severity: normal Version: GNOME2.2.2 galeon-1.3.4-0.ximian.6.14 os_details: Ximian, Inc. Synopsis: Auto-refreshing pages in tabbed browsing steal focus Bugzilla-Product: galeon Bugzilla-Component: User interface Description: Description of Problem: When using Galeon in Tabbed browsing mode if one tab contains a page that refreshes itsself: when the refresh occurs it steals focus from the other tabs. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open a new tab with a page that refreshes itsself. A good example is www.boston.com 2. Open a second tab with a page that contains a text area. 3. Type in the text area until the first tab refreshes. Actual Results: The keystrokes intended for the text area end up in the first tab. If you happen to type the letters of a link and hit return: that link will be loaded in the first tab. Expected Results: One would expect the keystrokes to stay in the user focused text area until the user changes the focus. How often does this happen? Everytime a page refreshes when you are typing in a text area.
