GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 110524
Multiple gnome-panel processes error & abort on startup
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Description of Problem: Since I had a system crash due to a power problem, my mouse went a little crazy and started opening and moving things whenever it was touched. The mouse problem was fixed after being rebooted, but the gnome panel (which was moved to the left side, vertically) now gives me multiple fatal errors. When I hit "okay" numerous times (12, last count), the panel disappears. After a couple of tries, the gnome panel disappeared completely (it didn't load at all upon startup). I uninstalled and reinstalled gnome-panel and the multiple fatal errors problem reappeared. The panel is still on the left, vertical. I saw some mention of vertical panels causing problems and performed the fix suggested, but nothing appeared to be wrong with the original values. How often does this happen? Every time.
