Description now michael@endbracket.net 2003-04-11 04:05:17 UTC
In a recent version of GNOME (somewhere between 2.2 beta and 2.2 final),
the weather applet stopped working for me from behind a proxy.

It seems that the weather applet relies on
/system/http_proxy/use_http_proxy being set, but that the network
preferences applet modifies only /system/proxy/mode.

I have filed bug 110518 against gweather applet, as I suspect the new
method is to use /system/proxy and that gweather applet should be updated
to use the new value, however I have also filed this bug against network
preferences applet in case selecting one of the "Direct", "Manual", or
"Automatic" radio buttons should also set the
/system/http_proxy/use_http_proxy appropriately.

This was fixed by fcrozat's commit to gnome-control-center on
2003-03-04. He also fixed it in the gnome-2-2 branch, so it should be
in the next GNOME 2.2 release.
