Opened by Bernd.Bartmann@sohanet.de (Bernd Bartmann) on 2003-02-20 16:45 From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20021003 Description of problem: After doing a fresh install of Phoebe3 with german as default language I notice that some gdm menu entries are not correct. This is probably related to wrong keyboard shortcut definitions: Sprache [L] Herunterfahren [d] Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Phoebe3 with german as default language 2. Look at the menu bar of gdm for broken translations/keyboard shortcuts 3. Additional info:
I know some work was done to improve German translations in gdm2. Is this still a problem?
I think you could simply transfer this bug from gdm/general to l10n/de. It seems the main issue is the duplicated shortcut on GUI: http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/gdm2/trunk/po/de.po?view=markup #: ../gui/greeter/greeter_canvas_item.c:158 msgid "Select _Language..." msgstr "_Sprache wählen …" #: ../gui/greeter/greeter_canvas_item.c:165 msgid "Select _Session..." msgstr "_Sitzung wählen …" European locales use this style and Asian locales use "string(_A)" style for the multibyte chars.
Thanks, I fixed the duplicated shortcuts in both TRUNK and gnome-2-18. Hope that helps.
