Description Steinar Bang 2003-03-23 23:08:02 UTC
It would be nice if <nextCatalog> entries in XML Catalog files could
point to TR9401 catalogs.

Issue 23 in http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/entity/issues.html
indicates that support for this is allowed, and the example of
pointing to the DocBook XML 4.1.2 docbook.cat file, in Bob Stayton's
chapter on XML Catalogs, in his DocBook XSL document
	http://www.sagehill.net/xml/docbookxsl/Catalogs.html
indicates that the Sun Resolver has support for doing this.

Bleech, that unclean. How is that defined ? How/what is the base
used, how does this integrate with the algorithms of section 7 ?
Nothing is defined about how this should be actually processed.

Daniel,
Appendix E of the XML Catalogs spec
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/entity/spec.html
describes how TR9401 entries are to be handled
by showing the equivalent XML Catalog syntax.
Comment 3 GNOME Infrastructure Team 2021-07-05 13:25:06 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libxml2/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
