Description Elijah Newren 2003-03-14 05:51:25 UTC
Package: nautilus
Severity: critical
Version: 2.2.1
Synopsis: Crashed trying to use smb: location
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: general
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.2.0.1)

Description:
Description of Problem:
I wanted to try out the smb: location in nautilus (which had never
worked before for me, and still hasn't... <sigh>) Unlike previous
attempts in years past, this time nautilus crashed on me.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Try to access smb://elijah:letmein/dictator-nt/music$
2. Watch the $ get replaced by %24
3. Try to change the %24 back to $
4. Repeat steps 1-3 another time or two
5. Try repeating step one, but use \$ instead of $ (it works at the
command line...)
6. Give up and instead try to access smb://elijah:letmein@dictator-nt
(leaving off the
trailing slash, which I don't know if it's necessary)

How often does this happen?
First time I've seen this crash; but I haven't tried to use the smb:
location much before, either. I'll see if I can duplicate it.
