GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 108099
Restarting video after pause of video does not work...
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Running gnomemeeting .96.0 on RH 8 with QuickCam Express webcam (qce driver) in Gnome. I have no problems sending video. Works well. When bandwidth is tight, audio suffers, so sometimes I will "pause" video. That speeds up the audio. When I click to un"pause" the video, my local video hangs and the remote site only sees the freezed video. Audio continues to work. Summary... video works (locally and to remote site) *until* I pause video, and then attempt to restart video. I am unable to restart video transmission locally or to the remote site when I hit pause again. Thanks! Steve steve410@cs.jhu.edu
Are you sure that it is related? Clicking on pause shouldn't influence the local video display at all, if the local video hangs it might be another problem. Clicking on pause should only pause the video transmission, but the local video should continue to be displayed normally. QCE-GA is known to have several stability problems.
I can reproduce it, I'll fix it tonight. Thanks for finding this !!
Clicking pause video and not having it start up again when clicking it a second time has been very consistent. If I do not click pause in gnomemeeting, video will run fine between my site and the remote site, and will be displayed locally. When I click pause, video stops. And when I click pause again, video remains stopped. When I hangup from the call, video returns to normal again. I can see my local video. --Steve
Thanks Damien! Steve
This is fixed but as it was a problem in OpenH323, you have to upgrade OpenH323 to the CVS version and recompile GnomeMeeting with it.
