Description Julien Olivier 2003-02-16 12:11:05 UTC
I think gstreamer should be Mozilla-embeddable. I don't know what would be
the best solution but I'd like to have a gstreamer Mozilla plugin so that
any gstreamer-supported file can be viewed in-line from Mozilla (specially
useful for Flash animations, Real videos, OGG streaming...).
Comment 1 Benjamin Otte (Company) 2003-02-21 16:19:34 UTC
I believe gst-player is/was able to do that.
You might want to look there.
Comment 2 Christian Fredrik Kalager Schaller 2003-02-23 20:35:29 UTC
There is a started Mozilla plugin in gst-player.
Comment 3 David Schleef 2003-04-01 22:10:33 UTC
The mozilla plugin is (mostly) waiting on fdsrc support in gst-player.
Comment 4 Thomas Vander Stichele 2003-05-11 17:46:10 UTC
david, could you elaborate a little on exactly what needs to be added
so we can get Julien to do this ?
Comment 5 David Schleef 2003-05-12 18:02:22 UTC
Gst-player needs to be able to optionally use fdsrc instead of
gnomevfssrc, and use fdsrc location=1 if the file "-" is specified on
the command line. This is necessary so that the socket (i.e.,
Mozilla) can stream data to gst-player (or gst-player-gtk, since it
was easier to embed.)

The Mozilla plugin mostly works now. Please play with it and file
separate bugs about problems with it.
