GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 104983
Email addresses that contain a + prevent registration
Last modified: 2009-05-25 13:46:19 UTC
This is a copy of Debian bug #177278 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=177278) I use email addresses that contain a "+" (plus character) for subaddressing. According to the RFCs, this is perfectly legal. However, when I give gnomemeeting an email-address with a plus in it, it fails to register at the directory. As far as I could find out, this applies to all directories. Therefore I think that this is likely to be a bug either of gnomemeeting or a design bug of the XDAP protocol used for registering. BTW, Netmeeting refuses to register email addresses containing a plus, which is only very slightly preferable. May be a hint for a protocol problem, though.
Any update on this bug? Some versions have been released since it was filled, and I don't know if this has been fixed. Thanks
Apparently this bug still exists. I tried registering an address containing a '+' without success. Without a '+' it works without problems. This is gnomemeeting 1.0.2 (Debian package 1.0.2-5 on sarge)
That's more a problem on the server than on the client and we have nobody to maintain the ILS server. ILS support will be dropped for GnomeMeeting 2.00.
Damien, has ILS support been dropped?
Yes I think so.
