It;s drawing the clock perhaps. It respawns over and over. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. make the gnome-panel vertical on a system with large hight screen and log out 2. to to another system with a smaller screen and login 3. crash Actual Results: crash Expected Results: no crash How often does this happen? every time I login Additional Information: on red hat 8 system using mac os X and Apple's X11 product on a powerbook g3 Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gnome-panel' (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)...[New Thread 8192 (LWP 6009)] 0x4097f789 in wait4 () from /lib/libc.so.6
