GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 102059
Menu item problems in locale fr_FR.UTF-8
Last modified: 2018-06-29 20:23:47 UTC
gnucash version: 1.7.6 The first menu item of menu "reports" is blank in the locale fr_FR.UTF-8.
Oops. That's the "Account Summary" report menu item. The translation of that name contains an accented character ('e). Speaking of which, it seems as if accented characters are always displayed wrong in any menu item or toolbar button label. Gee. In LANG=fr_FR everything is displayed correctly. I would guess that the UTF-8 version has to wait until a GNOME2 port is completed, which won't be done until deep into next year.

For me, this item is the only one that is displayed wrong. Other items with accented characters are displayed correctly in fr_FR.UTF-8. Emmanuel.
I use gnucash with fr_FR.UTF-8 for a while now, and there's no more problem with accented characters in menus.
