GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 101346
Unify copyright strings
Last modified: 2015-03-24 13:00:35 UTC
There were some discussions on gnome-hackers [1] This is my first attempt to fix these issues by using octal escapes and not marking copyright strings for translations. Please review,. regs, Chris [1] http://lists.gnome.org/archives/gnome-hackers/2002-December/msg00051.html
Created attachment 13030 [details] [review] patch against recent CVS
Added PATCH keyword regs, Chris
Chris: thanks for doing this. But I don't think a final consensus was reached was it. The changes you propose make sense but there may be more changes, might there not? I'd prefer to all the changes at once.
I was again swift to commit a similar patch to gnome-media - this time *with* permission from Iain. Sorry for that. > But I don't think a final consensus was reached was it. The changes > you propose make sense but there may be more changes, might there not? > I'd prefer to all the changes at once. Changes to what? You mean that we're possibly not all of the same opinion and that we ought to wait whether anybody has a better proposal? How long do you want to wait? I fear that this patch might get lost so I prefer to apply slight but consistent (just as consistent as the strings should be) pressure. regs, Chris
Chris: please go ahead with these changes
Thanks Chris. 2002-12-19 Christian Neumair <chris@gnome-de.org> * applets/fish/fish.c, applets/gen_util/clock.c, applets/gen_util/mailcheck.c, applets/gen_util/pager.c, applets/gen_util/printer.c, applets/gen_util/showdesktop.c, applets/gen_util/tasklist.c, applets/notification_area/main.c, gnome-panel/menu.c: Changed Copyright strings (#101346).
I'd like to start working on some other modules but I got into trouble (much cmpletely orphaned code in gnome-utils and gnome-applets). At the moment I'm contacting some maintainers and asking them what to do. regs, Chris
Created attachment 13120 [details] [review] Here comes the gedit patch. Plus it contains a fix for an i18n issue (Plugin isn't always translated with Plugin).
Chris: please open a seperate bug against gedit
Sorry, I think it's better to open a new bug. regs, Chris
Added dependency on metabug. regs, Chris
Once again, I am extremely annoyed. That patch you committed to gnome-panel doesn't even compile. Please TEST your patch before committing. That is not too much to expect.
See my comment in #101645 on how to correctly do a metabug. And what is the point in doing it anyone. This bug is finished, gone - who cares ?
I think should have an overview over the patches regarding that issue, independent of their state. regs, Chris
