GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 747101
Please consider using a higher resolution screenshot image for AppData
Last modified: 2016-09-20 14:52:15 UTC
Apparently higher-resolution images look better... Richard Hughes (who maintains the appdata spec at http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/appdata/) has provided a 1024x576 screenshot example for bluefish here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hughsie/fedora-appstream/master/screenshots-extra/bluefish/a.png
Created attachment 313387 [details] High resolution screenshot Attached is a high resolution screenshot in the preferred png format and 16:9 ratio. Olivier, can you upload this screenshot to the website? I updated the Bluefish appdata file for this image, but have not yet committed the changes to SVN.
what should become the URL for this image?
In the appdata file, the URL for the current image is http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/images/bluefish-appdata-screenshot.jpg I was assuming you would place the image in the same location and changed the appdata file URL to http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/images/bluefish-appdata-screenshot.png This change is not committed. The image can be placed anywhere you want. I just need the URL/file name for the appdata file.
I replaced the original jpg with this new screenshot (converted to jpg) and placed the new png itself also on the server. So both URL's now point to the new high resolution screenshot. so feel free to commit the appdata file.
Committed SVN revision 8592.
This was fixed in 2.2.8.
