Now that we do not show albums in Recent (earlier known as Photos), the way to reproduce is to mark a mix of photos and albums as favorites and then switch between the album and favorites view.

This appears to be the easiest way out. Another alternative could be to have the collection icon creation function compensate for the missing frame.
