alternative selection

atatched a mockup to improve the selections made in nautilus.
It doesn't obscure the content, and it's a bit more consistent with treeviews. It's probably easier to theme as well.

Confirming and changing component. (We're phasing out the Visual Design component.)

Just attaching a screenshot from the duplicate bug, showing the difference between Nautilus and the rest of the Gnome apps. I think the default look should be adopted.
Comment 5 André Klapper 2011-08-18 20:35:06 UTC

Feel free to test it if you think that it's important to know.

The situation has not changed, so no.
Comment 10 André Klapper 2021-06-18 15:50:04 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
