GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 89356
make title more generic or add only-show-in-gnome=true
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Name and Comment imply GNOME-specificity but the tool can also report Evolution, etc. bugs. If it's really GNOME-specific should have an OnlyShowIn=GNOME; line. Categories line should have a semicolon at the end of it to comply with WM spec.
The Categories line is fixed now. The name is also generic (Bug reporting tool), but the comment is "Report a bug in GNOME". Maybe we should change it to "Report a bug in your desktop" os "in your applications".
For all intents and purposes it is a GNOME+Ximian tool, even if concievably it could be used for other things. Of course we know that GNOME apps (evo) are used even in mostly-KDE desktops, so only-show-in-GNOME is probably not appropriate. I vote for leaving it like it is, maybe with a slight clarification to 'Report a bug in GNOME-based applications.' Yes, it's suboptimal, but until the KDE people jump on the bandwagon, it's most accurate.
Created attachment 20508 [details] [review] Patch for Luis' proposition.
This patch changed the comment to 'Report a bug in GNOME-based applications'. Ok to commit ?
Fernando: ping :-) what do you think of the patch?
It looks good, please, Vincent, commit it (and sorry for the delay, I didn't get email notification of this update)
