Description Philip Langdale 2002-07-01 02:27:30 UTC
Something in the last batch of article handing changes is causing random
freezing when saving article attachments. I can't get consistent repro
but it inevitably happens in due course. This is a hard freeze and a regular
kill will not get rid of pan; you need kill -9.

Predictably, these changes were matched with a database version increment
so I can't fall back to working build. Is any consideration given to avoiding
making the database incompatible at the same time as when potentially
crippling changes are made?

Which branch is this ? HEAD or pan-0-12-fix ?
Comment 2 Philip Langdale 2002-07-01 06:48:54 UTC
HEAD. there wasn't a 0.12.90 version to choose.
Comment 3 Christophe Lambin 2002-07-01 19:10:24 UTC
charles: this is one for you. :)

philip: well, we're never too keen on changing database version
numbers, but sometimes it's inevitable. And if you're following HEAD,
a certain degree is to be expected. If you do not want to deal with
that, you can always switch to the pan-0-12-fix branch:

Chris: stop scaring away my CVS HEAD users! ;)
Comment 5 Philip Langdale 2002-07-02 00:18:54 UTC
I *would* switch, but 0-12-fix is on the old db version too. I'm
trapped! :-)
Comment 6 Philip Langdale 2002-07-02 00:43:15 UTC
Well, it seems to be fixed now.
Comment 7 Christophe Lambin 2002-07-04 21:30:24 UTC
Away from HEAD ? I'm trying to get at least one on pan-0-12-fix! :))
