One should be able to view a bunch of images as a slide show.

Yes, this is definitely a feature that a photos app needs. Some initial wireframes:

Currently they don't address two issues:

 1. How to show a slideshow on a remote or external display.
 2. What can you show a slideshow of? Certainly an album or a set of photos that have been selected, but what about without a selection? Should you be able to start a slideshow of your entire photo stream?
