Description Stef Walter 2013-05-09 11:04:11 UTC
When joined to a domain, there are not only local users to consider as possibilities for login. So the switch user menu should just stay visible if joined to a domain.

Need to look at the details of how we would implement this.

(Uh, bug 700000!)

Can't we just have a property on AccountsService saying that the list of users is possibly incomplete?

That sounds like a good way (In reply to comment #2)

I win!

Yes, sounds like a good way to expose it. Implementation wise, I guess it could first ask realmd, then listen to realmd PropertiesChanged stuff, without trying to constantly keep realmd around. Eventually, using sssd would be better that asking realmd though.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
