Description Steve Rainwater 2011-04-26 19:21:46 UTC
When attempting to import large sets from flickr, Gthumb incorrectly reports the number of photos. It appears as if any set larger than 500 is incorrectly reported as being exactly 500. I aborted the import when I saw the error, so I'm uncertain if Gthumb would have successfully downloaded all the images or only a subset of them totalling 500.

Ideal behaviour would be to correctly report the number of images in a set and download all of them.

If correct behaviour is not possible for some reason, a sensible error message should at least be presented so the user understands what's broken and what's likely to happen if the import proceeds (i.e., "Gthumb is broken in such as a way that it can't handle sets of photos totalling more than 500. We hope to fix this in a future version but for now Gthumb will download [first 500 / last 500 / 500 random] images from your set. To download the remainder you'll need to ...")

Maybe there is a limit on the number of photos that an application can download from Flickr.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release (version 2.14). Thank you for your bug report.
