Description Krishnan 2010-07-17 15:35:31 UTC
pitivi does not recognise the web cam in laptop (acer 5738g/lenovo N500/acer one/samsung N210/lenovo s10e) whereas in all vlc/cheese/guvcview finds the web cam.
OS: Arch Linux in all with openbox set up.

The webcam functionality is currently disabled becaused it is broken. Fixing it is not at the top of the list of priorities at the moment.

Since
- this feature broken, unmaintained and nobody came up to offer help to fix it
- this code was the only reason we still had a dependency on HAL (bug #605920)
- not that many people use webcam footage for video editing
- Cheese already has a video recording feature

We decided to drop the webcam feature from pitivi. If someone comes up with a good quality patch for it, we could reconsider this feature in the future.
