Thanks for a bug report.

Is it for your IMAP's Inbox folder, or for other folders too?

If not an Inbox, when you right over the folder in the folder tree and choose
"Properties", is "Always check for new messages in this folder " checked or
not?

What options do you have in Edit->Preferences->Mail Accounts-><IMAP
account>->Edit, tab "Receiving options"? There is set which folders will be
updated on send/receive, same as on start.

It is for my IMAP Inbox. Also, I've found that I can just click on another
sub-folder of my Inbox and then go back immediately and it will load the new
messages in my Inbox. That's at least a faster workaround than exiting and
reloading.

In Receiving Options I have "Check for new messages every 10 minutes" and
"Apply filters to new messages in INBOX on this server." I've tried unchecking
both of those as well and it doesn't make a difference. Nothing else is
checked.

Thanks for the update. I recall something similar with local Outbox, when sometimes one sends an email, but it is not shown in the Outbox, though there didn't help moving forth and back between folders.

Hi Brian, I'm closing this due to changes in bug #633949 and bug #207580, which might influence this too. Please reopen if you'll be able to reproduce the issue with Evolution version which includes both of these changes (2.91.4+). Thanks in advance.
