Gmail account is very easy to add to evolution but "send mail" doesn't work with default settings. "Server requires authentication" has to be selected manually.

When add new account wizard is used, and new account is gmail, default setting in send mail tab should be "on" if server is smtp.gmail.com

evo patch

for evolution;

It knew what to set, and it set it, but it didn't update UI properly, thus it wasn't shown to the user, and going through the page reset values back to those from UI.

The change for "Server requires authentication" on the sending part was done in commit http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?id=725509de97262
