Description Praveen Thirukonda 2009-11-20 12:27:28 UTC
So i can see the reasoning behind allowing volume to be extended > 100% for the first time from the sound preferences only. but once a volume >100% has been sent. Then keyboard media keys should be allowed to increase and decrease volume in this range.

And also the volume applet should expose the volumes once already that range has been entered.

Mass move to gnome-control-center.

Won't happen, see this change made to gnome-settings-daemon:

    media-keys: Don't go up to 11

    Revert patch from bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=631030
We don't actually want to go to 11 and allow users
to blindly get into software amplification territory.

Though, see bug 658248 about improving things a bit.
