Gnumeric spreadsheet 

As you can see from the properties of the chart, I added a "Point" to
one of the series but it does not show up. Someone in the gnumeric mailing list
suggested I should file a bug here.

I am using Gnumeric 1.9.9 on Linux (Ubuntu 9.10)

This occurs because the series has no markers. Point actually work only when there are already markers in the series. This is of course not what we want. I'll try to fix that before 1.10.0. Thanks for reporting.

Fixed in git. I suppose it would also be nice to allow for custom droplines children, but that's another story.
