GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 594906
empathy crashed with SIGSEGV in empathy_audio_sink_set_volume()
Last modified: 2009-09-14 14:46:42 UTC
The bug has been opened on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427579 "Crash during the connection process of an audio call. Crash occures 100% time when an audio call is open. empathy 2.27.92-0ubuntu2
+ Trace 217498
empathy_audio_sink_set_volume is called on a NULL EmpathyGstAudioSink. Not sure how that can happen. Would be good to have Empathy logs. Could you please start empathy with EMPATHY_DEBUG=all ?
I can't reproduce the bug, but ut seems that when initializing the call window, the "value-changed" signal on the volume slider is connected before the audio sink is initialized. My branch here [1] fixes this, and adds a NULL check in the callback. Not sure if this was really the cause for the crash though. The branch is now merged to master.
