An example of freeze

With pre-3.2.6 from today I get a freeze. I exchanged with Yannick a few IM
texts, and when I quit, ekiga does not finishes (I do not rememeber if it
freezes/responsiveToKbd too or not). It appeared twice, so I attache two
files.

Comment 2 Snark 2009-08-25 19:54:50 UTC
I notice that in both cases, ekiga seems to be playing a sound event when you quit.

Comment 5 Damien Sandras 2009-09-13 15:48:15 UTC
Wouldn't it be pulseaudio ?
Comment 6 Eugen Dedu 2009-09-13 17:08:19 UTC
I had the freeze and I do not use pulse audio.
Comment 7 Damien Sandras 2009-09-13 17:10:04 UTC
Can you reproduce it ?
Comment 8 Damien Sandras 2009-09-13 17:11:00 UTC
The problem Eugen, is that your backtrace indicates you quit.
Comment 9 Eugen Dedu 2009-09-13 17:13:43 UTC
Yes, as I wrote, I press Quit, but ekiga does not finishes.

I need to make tests again with Yannick to reproduce the problem...
Comment 10 Damien Sandras 2009-09-13 17:16:41 UTC
It tries to destroy the AudioCore. But the AudioCore can not be destroyed before the sound event has been played. The sound event never finishes !?

I don't understand. It is quite similar to the issue Yannick has with pulse audio but I do not understand what happens.

This may be a case of deadlock in SysV semaphores, see http://mail.gnome.org/archives/ekiga-list/2010-March/msg00006.html (try whether the posted script helps).
Comment 12 Eugen Dedu 2011-01-25 18:22:11 UTC
As this is very likely not a bug in Ekiga, closing it and adding information at http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Troubleshooting#Freeze_when_using_ALSA.
