Description Benedict Stein 2009-07-30 22:10:07 UTC
If you try to activate the plugin on a default Ubuntu system you end up with an error message which only contains "unable to enable plugin"
This message is mainly caused by the fact that the coherence package is missing on a system. So I would suggest to add at least a note that coherence package must be installed.

Other information:
PS: Installing coherence solves the issue for all versions and systems I tested, but not yet for Ubuntu karmic (9.10) with rhytmbox 0.12.3

This is a distribution problem. The package containing the UPNP plugin should require Coherence.
Comment 2 Benedict Stein 2009-07-30 23:04:24 UTC
filed bug on ubuntu:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/407162

but I guess this will be reversed cause in my opinion a distribution can't say all packages which are necessary for plugin have to be installed.

E.g the whol bunch of python packages has to be included on a live CD in that case !
So it may be easier to just change the message.
