GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 563668
Address completion pop-down window pops down too soon
Last modified: 2009-06-17 15:24:00 UTC
Forwarding from the downstream bugzilla: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=475023 When you enter in e-mail fields addresses that match addresses in your directory, the pop-down window with matches pops down before any characters of subsequent addresses are typed. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): evolution-2.24.2-1.fc10.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new e-mail message 2. Start to enter an address that matches a directory address. 3. Select the default address from the pop-down list by hitting Enter. Actual results: The pop-down window closes and reappears empty before any characters of the next address are typed. Expected results: No pop-down until the next address is matched.

Milan, the patch seems fine, but it doesn't happen to me. Any thing specific. Im on stable/latest.
Yes, my exact steps are these: a) open new mail window, staying in the To field b) start typing name of the contact, just to have only one in the list below the control, and highlighted rest of the address in the To field c) Press Enter. The address changes to the contact name, underlined, the comma is appended at the end, with one space, cursor is at the end of the text. Completion list flashed, in a way it disappeared and reappeared empty. It doesn't do this when you select from the list itself, as the step 3 in comment #0 says.
ping srag.
Akhil, do you see it?
Yup, it is easy to reproduce when you have many names starting with same 3-4 characters.
Srag/Akhil, what does this wait for?
Ok. I remember I have seen it recently. So go on and commit.
